Soar Like an Eagle

Half-day meditation retreat

In this one day morning retreat we will learn to let our mind soar like an eagle in meditation. Discover how it is possible to be both strongly concentrated and deeply relaxed as we focus on the spacious clarity of the mind itself.

Just as eagles soar through the vast expanse of the sky without meeting any obstructions, needing only minimal effort to maintain their flight, we can also learn to meditate undistracted by any other phenomenon. Our meditation should not be like the flight of a small bird, which never stops flapping its wings and is always changing direction, but like the flight of an eagle, which soars gently with only occasional adjustments to its wings.

Through meditating in this way we shall feel our mind dissolving into and becoming one with its object, in this case the peaceful nature of the mind itself.

The day will include guided meditations, short teachings, and time to discuss the topics with other practitioners in the morning break.
